Inspired by the plans by Roger Todd on Landships I'm planning to scratchbuild a model of the Fosters Battletank.
Obviously there will be a little bit of "artistic license" involved - especially where the tail wheels are concerned. However there is one thing I've not been able to work out myself so would like other opinions.
The design doesn't seem to have any obvious place for a driver or commander to sit. The whole front is simply a mass of guns leaving no spare space.
Does anyone have any ideas where they might have been located?
Only nearly a year late I've just seen this post, so apologies bz1!
If you're still working on the model, I'd love to see your progress! As for where the driver or commander went, there is no indication whatsoever on the original drawings.
There is clearly little or no room in the domed nose of the vehicle, what with five(!) MGs crammed in the space! If I were you, maybe have the driver sat behind the machinegunners, between the two 6-pdrs, in a raised seat with his head in a little cupola on top?
