Great War Xbox Game

"It's the Great War, Jim, but not as we know it."

Here's a link to an arcade type game for Xbox.

In one  the videos there is Little Willie going to war, Beute Gun Carrier  (Which looks pretty good), and Whippets.

It may be terribly inaccurate, but at least it's based on the Great War, and may set a seed in younger gamers heads.

I bet if you introduce them, people will be interested.
I do figures and no-one's deleted my posts; there's not a tank in sight.

I'm sure you're right. Depending on the slant, topics about aircraft might be found in

Modelling
Topics regarding the modelling (in all scales) of WW1-era Military subjects

On the Great War in general
Topics regarding WW1 that do not fit in the above categories

... and, just to be sure, there's this one, the "Captain's cloak" as they used to call that clause of the Articles of War which allowed prosecution/persecution of wayward matelots for naughtiness not specifically covered in any other clause

Miscellaneous
Postings that don't really fit any of the above categories.

Landships is the name, modelling is the game and spreading awareness and knowledge about the "Great War" in all its aspects (including the recovery/preservation of fading details of all kinds), if not the exact aim, is certainly part and parcel of developing and maintaining a supportive, learning "community" here. It is all part of the overlaying story.

Not sure if we have the facility, in the absence of the founder, to establish a dedicated section for WW1 aircraft here but should a need be shown due to a demonstrated and high popularity of the theme I'm sure that could be investigated. 'Planes are (at the very least) an interesting background detail for a tank diorama** I think.

[edit - ** there's a "laughing" icon in there - if your browser doesn't read it, trust me.]

I have little interest in WWI planes, though I did see an Airco DH2 fly todaybiggrin, so I haven't looked for WWI forums, but I suspect there must be some good dedicated one's out there.

I think it would be a shame for this to be yet another general WWI forum.  It would loose it's recognised individuality, and may damage dedicated forums already doing a good job.

Let's keep this as the Premier Forum for land-based warmongery.

Any other thoughts??
