Hi

The Whippets (to be precise, Medium A tanks) belonging to B Company, 17th (Armoured Car) Battalion, Tank Corps arrived in Dublin in January 1919. The Company had 16 in all and was stationed in Marlborough Barracks, Dublin. However the Medium As seem to have ranged far and wide - as far as Galway for example, moving always by road and thus causing the tanks to sustain alot of wear and tear. All but 2 tanks (and these may not have been Medium As) don't appear to have lasted beyond May 1922.

A photo is attached  for you.

Gwyn
