Bill Murray movie The Razors Edge had scenes of American volunteer ambulances and crews, Sorry I don't have any pic's, does anyone know how accurate these vehicles are? Am thinking of building/scratchbuilding if necessary said vehicles. Any help or replies are welcomed!!

TIA

Tankcommander, Thanks, Yes I have scoured the web and collected some pictures but I can't get them to upload in Photobucket. Also I tried to make some screen caps of The Razor's Edge ambulances but I'm doing something wrong there as well! The three ambulances in the movie are all different, that is what caught my eye. Bill Murray's appears to be a Ford model T, while the other college's ambulance is a pearl white quite inappropriate for the battlefield, I can't tell what make or model it is, Piedmont's ambulance might be french or a Mack truck converted for the mission, none of the vehicles has markings as to what they are-not that Ican spot. thank you for the help I really appreciate it.

There doesn't appear to be any 1/35 scale models of this subject or if there is, they are toy like for the wargamers. The 100 year anniversary is approaching and there isn't anyrhing significant out there for kits.

Thanks,

Jim

If 1/48 will do, look in the Modelling section for the fantastic new RPM kit of the Ford model T ambulance

I read somewhere that the US Volunteers used at leat one Rolls-Royce - a Silver Ghost, IIRC.

Have you sen the Adrian issued to these troops?

Hi James, Forgive my ignorance but what is an Adrian?

Thanks for the Silver Ghost I'll look that one up and an Adrian Too...

Couldn't sleep was up all night looking up Howitzers and mortars and trucks and such.... being American WW1 has always been kind of a distant conflict

But now I see things a little differently.

The Adrian is the French helmet - based on the fire helmet worn by French firemen

MY GAWD ROB! you've amassed quite a collection of pictures and info

on Flickr!!!! THANK YOU! The Adrian is really neat! how heavy is it? did the Troops have to keep they're topper on all the time like the US Marines? or just in/near combat situations?

Do you participate in the Goodwood festival?
