anyone got any pictures of a tank with the vision slits camoflaged by a paint job? i think i seen one with a brick like patten on the side sponson

You did and that would probably have been Mk IV male C23. Quite a few female tanks had their sponson vision slits camouflaged by a black horizontal line connecting the slits to make a single black stripe.

Edit: Forgot to mention another camouflage technique that Mk II 578 "The Perfect Lady" used, which involved painting extra vision slits on the hull sides.

Bovingtons Whippet has fake vision slits painted on it, I have seen similar on contemporary photos of Whippets and rhomboids.
