This is 4 miles from my house, and I didn't know it was there.

I knew it was for sale, hopefully the MSIM have bought it then? Would be nice to see it at Tankfest alongside the Mk IV replica too

Where did you hear that? The last I heard was that it spent its summers on tour or in the yard at Wigan, and the winter at, of all places, RAF Millom - about as far away from anywhere as you can get in England. Obviously, that no longer applies.

I used to know the Sales Manager at the MMSI, but apparently she left a few months ago. I'll give them a ring in the morning and try to find out what's going on.

Just had a most enjoyable chat with Bob Grundy, the creator of the Schnuck replica. Delighted to report that he is a Great War buff and highly knowledgeable on numerous aspects.

The vehicle is, indeed, for sale to a serious buyer, but is sheeted up and under cover at present (in case the permanently blazing Wigan sunshine fades the paint). More details soon.

Bob G has OK'd the following:

Schnuck is now in her winter quarters, since public outings are restricted to the summer months. She is for sale to a good home, but unsheeting and resheeting her is a time-consuming process and, therefore, sight-seers are, understandably, not encouraged.

The Museum at Millom has, sadly closed. Bovington hasn't got the funds to spare, and there is no room for her at MMSI or Imperial War Museum North. She does need to be kept in a reasonably controlled environment. Bob would prefer a location more central than Bovington, although Bov are keen to stage a confrontation with the Mk IV(ish) from War Horse at some point.

Must have a go on Euromillions on Friday.

Is there any update on the A7V at all? More than a few people mentioned how good it would have been to see it in the arena with the Mk IV last weekend. I'd have thought the cost to the Tank Museum wouldn't be much in return for what you get (certainly compared to umpteen thousands spent constantly repairing the Tiger), but then again I don't have access to their accounts!

Had forgotten about Schnuck. Will give Bob G a ring next week and see if there are any developments.
