9.15 cm leichtes Minenwerfer System Lanz

Yes, I got the Masterclub resin kit from Colorado Miniatures.  Looks very nice, and it gives assembly directions, but do I correctly believe the base is made of wood planks and everything above is steel?  This site does thankfully have museum pictures of the mortar assembly itself, but there is no base.

Also, anyone know how these were deployed in battle?

The wooden base was strenghtened with steel strips. The attached is from a period postcard I found on the Web. I've seen images of the Lanz deployed in trenches like other light mortars.

Hi Charlie,

The picture you have included is not of a Lanz, but is the very similar Mauser Minenwerfer. Enclosed you will find 2 puctures of the Lanz...

Plenty of combat shots come up if you google-image it, including with the Bulgarians.
