Mk I hydraulic shield
Permalink

I am making a Mk I Male tank at Gaza and I was wanting to know if Ole-Luk-Oie had a shield that protected the water filler in the rear of the tank. I think all the Mk I tanks had this shield but I am not sure. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

I've seen clear photos of the rear hulls of Sir Archibald, Otazel and Pincher, and all of those tanks had the shields fitted. The photo below, taken after the destruction of Sir Archibald, shows a MkI male whose name on the shield looks like Ole-Luk-Oie, although the resolution is poor.

Thanks Romboid. After looking a the photoagain I agree. I too have only seen the rear of the tanks you mentioned and it seems logical that if these had the shield that the rest of the Mk I tank had them too. Back to building now.
