Last night I pulled out my box of WWI figures and thought I'd have a go at tarting up one of the Emhar British soldiers (specifically the one throwing the Mills bomb).
Granted, these figures are not as precisely detailed as Scale Link or even the new ICM set (which I've yet to get) but by replacing things like rifles and packs, hopefully they should look a bit more convincing.
To this end, I've so far removed the moulded-on rifle (which doesn't resemble anything I ve seen in books) and the small pack, the intention being to replace these with parts from Italeri's weapons and equipment set.
The plastic on these figures appears to be harder than standard polythene, which means a razor saw can be used for some of the cutting. The rest is down to a sharp scalpel and a very steady hand.
Gluing on the new parts should prove interesting; I am thinking maybe epoxy should do the job.
Has anyone else had a go at dressing these figures up?
