The article seems to be a very fair and comprehensive overview of French artillery in WW1. I hadn't realised the time it took the French Army to recover from the pre-war strategic error of relying on the 75mm Mle 1897 as an all-purpose gun.

If you use the Chrome browser you can get an in line translation - I can usually figure out what a French text is on about but it's a slow process for a 20 page document.
