Unidentified artillery at Gallipoli
Permalink

Here's all the unidentified artillery pieces from my Gallipoli trip - some on the Gallipoli peninsula, most across the Dardanelles in Cannakale in the superb Naval Museum

These two, probably unrelated to the battle, are at the Turkish Memorial

This is believed to be a French gun, it's in the ruins of Sedd-ul-Bahr fort which overlooks V Beach, famous for being where the SS River Clyde landed. The fort was later used as the French Headquarters

Gun at the Turkish fort on Cape Helles

Gun behind the Cape Helles Memorial

This monster is in Cannakale town centre, with a smaller one alongside

German 10.5cm leFH16?

All the above guns are taken in part of the Cannakale Naval Museum and just a small number of the artillery on display - these were the ones away from the public areas and so wasn't able to get closer and had no visible signage.
