Does anyone know how many and what types of armored cars took part in the Feb/Mar and Oct/Nov 1917 revolutions? Here is what I have:
Armored Units of the Russian civil War: Red Army has for Oct/Nov 38 armored cars, 31 of them Austin 1st,2nd, and 3rd series in Petrograd (including the cars Proletariat, Red Commune, Lenin, and International). They also have 7 others in the Moscow military district.
Others I know are the one and only Allies-Chamber-Putlov half track that took part in both the Feb/Mar and Oct/Nov. At least one Sheffield Simplex, one Mgebrov-Renault, and two or more Peerless for the Feb/Mar. The book "The End of the Russian Imperial Army" has several mentions of armored cars during the Feb/mar revolution and has a map showing where the armored garage was in then Petrograd.
What is Allis-Chamber??? Maybe Allis-Chalmers Tractor-Truck armoured 1916 by Poutiloff Work (Project of colonel Gulkevitch). First Name "Achtyrez", second - "Ilya Muromez", later "Krasny Peterburg".
Here is Austin 3rd Series "Lenin" ("Spartak") and Sheffield-Simplex "Leutnant Schmidt".
Ooops! I made a typo. As for LT Schmidt the Bolos also named two armored trains after him No.15 In Honor of Lieutenant Schmidt and No.75 Lieutenant Schmidt
