Russian M1909 mountain gun
Permalink

Now that a kit of the 76 mm regimental gun M1927 is available in 1/72 scale, I am looking for conversion possibilities.

I understand the gun is based on the earlier Schneider 76mm mountain gun M1909, which is identical or very similar to the 75 mm Schneider-Danglis 06/09.

What needs to be done to convert the M1927 into a M1909? Change the huge wheels for spoked 90mm wheels and replace the gun shield by the very typical Schneider-Danglis one for sure, but what else?

I am aware of http://www.jaegerplatoon.net/Infantry_guns.htm but the info there left me quite puzzled.

Several hundred M1909 went into Russian service, but were they heavily involved in the WW1 fighting?

Thanks in advance, Pat
