Serbian muzzle loading moerser 12 cm system La Hitte produced at a military factory in Kragujevac around the 1870th. Fhotos from 1914.

That's a fine photo, thanks for sharing it. I feel there is a lack of documentation of Serbian military in Western languages.

Supposedly this mortar will be ridiculed for looking archaic but it strikes me that today's forces are using 40+ years old equipment as well. Regards, Pat

The pic looks compiled if thats the right word, I wouldnt say a mortar using the La Hitte system was particularly archaic for WW1, basic maybe but servicable...

in the opinion of the Serbian soldiers moerser 12 cm with modern fuze for HE shell was a much powerful by the first French mortars No 2.
