Which one's supposed to be Kaiser Bill, the more lightly coloured one pointing? I like the faked aeroplane too, about to smack into the windmill

. . . and the cloth bands on the helmets indicate that they're on manoeuvres. If those are Prussian artillery uniforms, this pic might even be pre-1910.

has to be. their wearing dunkelblau. fieldgrey was never issued until around 1909 1910 as you mention, James.
I would also say that light colored guy pointing is the Kaiser otherwise, he is somewhere near there because that's his guard and standard bearer behind the officers observing the shots and taking range calculations. all in all it is an interesting picture showing how a field battery operated in theory.

You can put another constraint on the time period - the gun is a "neuer Art". The FK 96 n.As were converted from the FK 96 a.As in 1906-07.
