Another 10cm lFH 16 in Australia - this restored one is at the Watsonia RSL, Melbourne. Originally allocated to Bendigo, Vic in 1921.

The breech ring has a manufacturers symbol below the date I haven't seen before - anyone identify it?

Also does anyone know the meaning of the numbers and letters on the top right of the breech ring? - there are two on this gun:

M 14720CWW and S 3486 BV

Regards,

Charlie

I've got them from another source:

The gun was made by MAN. N - Maschinenfabrik Augsburg Nurnberg at the Nurnberg factory

GGF 45 is an inspector's number from the nearest government arsenal at Ingolstadt - GGF = Geschutz Geisserie und Geschossfabrik

S 3486 BV  S = forging (Schmieden), BV =Bochumer Verein

M 14720 CWW  M= machining, CWW = (unknown factory)

Bought as a total wreck for $A50 with $A11,000 of restoration added

Regards,

Charlie
