Shockingly enough, I managed to get an Emhar 1/35 Mark V Tank kit at last! (The supplier himself has said that he too has trouble obtaining these things.)
I'd love to build one in British WW1 use, but a few questions:
1) I can find no references on the Mark V tank other than in an Osprey book about the Russian Civil War, and there isn't much. I was wondering about the British use. Brown like the earlier Mark tanks?
2) Did the British use them in other places, such as the colonies? And how long did they stay in service?
3) Anyone else get them?
4) Unfortunately your site is gone. I haven't found another walkaround.
I've built 3 ex of this kit. The base is the old MarkIV and Ehmar just add a new sprue with specific MarkV details. The base is really crude, the new parts rather good, with corrected driver post and nice MG.
The biggest work you need to complete concerns the sponsons, both male and female are wrong in shape and detail. Tracks add to be replaced by either Accurate Armour or Panzershop resin tracks.
About info, the Russian Armada fascicule provides good pic and drawing and the Bovington museeum sells a very useful plan-pack.

Thanks! I have sets of the Accurate Armour WW1 British tracks-how good are they?
They were also used by the American 301st Battalion during WW1. The British used them post-war, both in the UK and abroad, for example with the British Army of the Rhine, in Dusseldorf and Cologne (note: these were Composites). Also in Silesia (also Composites as they came from Cologne). In the UK they were used for training but also, IIRC, during industrial disputes for example in Liverpool. The last use I know of one by the British Army was around 1940/1. If you buy the IWM DVD on British tanks during WW2 (worth having anyway) there's film of the Tank Museum's Mark V, without sponsons surrounded by Matilda IIs. If you want you could even convert it into a Tender. You'll find photos on the good old Internet!

I've bought the AA 20,5" tracks some years ago, it comes with both sections and individual links, parts was very well mould with internal details.
The Panzershop offer is less precise (no internal details provided) but as far I know, Panzershop is the only manufacturer to offer the two models : the 20,5" and the 26,5" fitted on late models MarkV and MarkV*. I use both in my models posted in this forum : the MarkI and the MarkV*
Oh yeah - should have mentioned that one. Even has my name in it somewhere...
"This book belongs to . . . . . "?

A+

I assume the 20,5 would be okay for the Mark V, from what you imply? At least the earlier ones?

Yes, 20.5" tracks are fine for a Mk V. Plenty of tanks had the wider track, so it may pay to do a bit of research if you want to represent a particular vehicle, but some Mk Vs did indeed use the narrower links.
