19th Century Bavarian Fuss-Artillerie Gun Park - 3 different guns
Permalink

This is an interesting photo showing the gun park (Geschutz Park) of the Kgl. Bayer. 1. Fußartillerie-Regiment.  The reverse of the photo is written, "Geschutz Park auf dem Lagerfeld Juni 83 Ib Fuss Art Regt" = "Gun Park on the training area June 83 1.Bayer Fußartillerie-Regiment"

Of the 3 guns shown, I see starting farther down the line, several schw 12 cm Kanone 1880, then two 15cm Ringkanone 72, and then what appear to be two 15cm s.F.H. 1893 - BUT that doesn't match the June 83 date on the back of the photo.  So, what could be these two guns closest to the camera?  Even the 21cm Morser that looks similar was made in 1899; so...

(Curious are the two small guns in the lower left, what appears to be a small mortar and maybe a signal cannon.)

Thoughts from the experts?

Hiya,

It was the forerunner of the forerunner of the 21cm Stahlmörser of 1899. This is the 21cm Bronzemörzer C/71. This one still had a wooden carriage...

With kind regards,

-Arie.
