WDLR workshop train?

Although there are drawings for this (and even 4mm kits), I've never seen any textual info or photos - is anyone aware of any?

Yes there are. There was a full article with scale drawings and photos in Roy Links Narrow Gauge &Ind Review a few years ago.

I will find out what issue(s) the article was in.

Thanks much - I know the magazine and have some decade+ old issues, but generally find it too dear for me. I actually prefer the French Voie Libre - although very different in style.

However, I may even be able to source that one issue on this side of the pond.

I've got it - #55 and #57, and I have them on order.  Fortunate timing, as all issues before 55 - and many after, are sold out.

Also, Roy is working on a new book - 'WDLR Album' - with previously unseen War Department photos from March of 1918 showing the train in operation, among other things; hopefully due out next year, but not certain.  Another source mentioned that a lot of new WDLR material is "coming to light".

Good news. I have seen alot of the pictures going into Roy's book, with out saying too much it going to be absolutley amazing.

With the Centenary coming up I know of one other book which will feature scale drawings etc of all the known WDLR stock and some of which we didn't know !!!

Which is great for me.I am working on a kit for the P Class wagon after which I have run out of letters !!!!

Hopefully Roy's book will be out in time for the big WW1 event at Apedale in September.
