Bonsoir,

Like for most of the Artillerie Spéciale units, on the Saint Chamond, unit markings on the right side were on the door.

If "Fantomas" was written on the right side, it was only, very little, in front of the door, like for Saint Chamond M1 Teddy, Zygomar, Jeanne d'Arc,

Chantecocq (other tanks of this Group).

There is no photo from the right side of this Saint Chamond, and it's impossible to said it "Fantomas" was also written on the right side.

For exemple, in this Group (AS 31), Saint Chamond from Lt Bégarie worn, on left side the drawn of a bear, and the nickname "Teddy" on the right side.

There was not bear drawing on the bothe side, "Teddy" was painted in front the door, and unit markings were on the door.

Ace from the Battery was "diamonds", paint in black, like probably nickname "Fantomas".

Number of the tank in the Battery "I" was painted upon "31" from "A31S"

In this Group, in 1917, tank number (62458) was painted in white on the rear (left and right).

On the door on rear right side, and at the same level and, some times a little bigger, on rear left side.

There is no photo of rear side of this Saint Chamond.

All the leather coat from the French tanks units was black during the First World War.

Bonne maquette - Michel
