Hi everyone! Fresh here. I have noticed for quite a while that many MK IV and V tanks have rails. Were they a field modification? Did crews ever take them off?
Can't say more without checking, but I recall previous discussions on the forum stating that, at least for the Mk IV, the rails were added in France by the workshops there.
Some Mk Vs have been photographed without rails in muddy conditions, but I don't know where. I think Mk IVs in the field are always seen with the rails fitted.
