Those poor tracks... they apparently were not correctly laced into the rails at the bottom of the tank?

It seems not. I wonder why they were moving it.

Obviously not the original gun - so what is it?

The gun might be a 1930s/WW2 vintage 45mm tank gun - they were fitted to the BT tanks and some of the light tanks.

I would have thought it would be smarter to build a Mark V replica - there's lots of stress corrosion cracking in the Russian Mark Vs presumably

from exposure to the extreme weather they have.

Regards,

Charlie

That is just vandalism.  I am appalled if there's any truth in that rumour.

Does anyone know the serial number of the Kubinka Mark V please?

I've joined the site to try and see who "we" are and what they're up to. Why not join me, Gwyn?

According to the museum website, "The presentation of the restored British heavy tank Mark V « Ricardo " will be held August 27, 2016 GV " Central Museum of armored vehicles " in Kubinka ."

All we need to know now is what has been done to it. Any Russian friends prepared to help?
