Large numbers on FT-17 Upper Hull
Permalink

I suspect this has been covered before, so my apologies for bringing it up again (I had no luck finding a thread on this).

I am wondering about the meaning of the large numbers painted on the upper hull of some FT-17s

Attached are two photos (and details) of what I presume are of the same vehicle (number 66314 on the track guard, both sides).  If the same vehicle is depicted in these photos, "365" is painted on just the LEFT side of the upper hull.

The images came out of the belongings of 2nd Lt. J.R. Younglove, Co. C, 345th (US) Tank Battalion.

 Thank you,

John

Another image of an FT with large numbers from an American tanker's photo album.  Written on the back of the image, "Unloading the tanks."
