The FCM2c never saw war operations in the great War 14-18.
In WWII they where saborded on the railway convoi to prévent they fall in ennemy hands.
Only the 91 was récuperated by whermacht en sent to Berlin.

Char 2C #91 was badly damaged when the tanks were blown up by the French. Most images show the left side - the right side

had a large hole (attached). #99 was taken by the Germans - I've read that it was later captured by the Red Army and was photographed

in (then) East Germany in 1948.

CharlieC, you are right I made a number mistake; it is te n°99 that was taken by the germans and not the n° 91.
There is a very little hope that the n° 99 may be still existing somewhere in Russia today.

Any definative evidence out there as to colour used on the 2c? Instructions say Vallejo 71.015 which is similar to Tamiya XF27 Black Green (I prefer Tamiya paints). Is this likely to be correct?

The 1925 instruction says uniform "vert olive matt". I think Tamiya XF-62 would be too dark and XF-71 too light.

XF-27 seems to be similar to dark Brunswick Green which possibly isn't yellow enough and too dark.

The images of the Char 2C seem to suggest a single colour - no camouflage.

Certainly at least three of them had cammo - 91, 93, and 99 according to the photos I've got. I suspect that they all had one form or another during their service and only the one - 93 - was kept colourful - possibly for parades or films.

The same goes for the bottom side skirts - on, off, and front half missing. I presume that they got a real bashing when doing cross-country work?
