I eventually completed the MarkV from Takom as a composite (or Hermaphrodite) one from the 9nd tank batallion in France late 1918. The kit itself can be completed out of the box with very few trouble.
Maybe ten years ago, I converted a MarkV* using the old Ehmar model with Panzershop wide tracks, it is interesting to show the two tanks together :
I really like both model and in my opinion the MKV* is a great work when I think which model you started from and how few references there was ten years ago on WWI tanks.
The wider tracks a really nice addiction and the look well casted.
I would like to know if the Panzershop MKV* convertion works bot only with the Hemar kit but also with Takom's.
In time I was working on the V* star, I was happy enough to buy the planpack from the Bovington tank museeum! The original drawings was largely enough detailled to make a good work. About the Panzershop conversion, I'm quite sure it was designed to be used with the Ehmar. There are some dimensional differences between Takom and Ehmar but it could maybe works as the overal dimension are the same.
From other point, building the central section from scratch is not very difficult.
