Greetings All - I recently acquired this from an old collector.  Pix show Crown M headstamp and fuze-well details - rare or common ? Artillery is not my area of expertise. Thanks !

From the size of your image with a dollar bill, I would say this is an early 8.8 cm shell, typically used on U boats and coastal defense vessels. Maybe the 8.8 cm SK L/30? There are similar shell cases for sale when you search the net, but I haven't seen a complete one with the projectile.

It does look like the 8,8cm SK L/30 shell and projectile.  If you measure the projectile diameter this will help identify it.

This is a link to my German Navy 8,8cm SK L/30 and shell/projectile:https://www.lovettartillery.com/8.8cm_Schnellfeuer_Kanone_L_30.html

It' probably a 8,8 cm Spgr. L/2,6 (Kz)

Kz is for kopfzünder

cartridge case 8,8 x 390 R for 8,8 cm SK L/30 or L/35

Definitely a 8,8 cm Spgr. L2,6 (Kz)

You still have to find the Gr. Z. C/83 fuze

Could you post an image of the Gr. Z. C/83 fuze?

I have had difficulty finding information on this one.

Pascal

Thanks for posting the image of the fuze.  That is one I do not seem to have information on.  I did end up buying the 8,8cm S.K. L/30 sheel case the projectile in these post along with another one that turned up at a local show,  so I am now on the lookout for the fuze.  Please let me know if you have one for sale.
