French 75mm mle/97 with French Limber
Permalink

In the last few months I got my French 75mm mle/97 back from temporary loan to the MacArthur Memorial.  While the gun was on loan for the WW1 Centennial, I acquired a French manufactured 75mm mle/97 Limber dated 1917.  The limber has the original horizon blue paint on the interior of the ammunition box and is over painted with original camouflage.  I believe it is the only French manufactured mle/97 Limber in North America.  I also do not know of any other mle/97 Limber with original paint still intact. Please let me know if you are aware of other examples with original paint.  In the last few days, I finally got the limber and gun into a new display building and photographed them together.  This link has a few photos near the bottom of the page:     https://www.lovettartillery.com/French_75mm_mle_97_.htm

Excellent acquisition, Ralph!  Now all you need to compete the ensemble is the caisson.
