Hiya,

Here are the printfiles of the gun, but minus the wheel. The 3D model of the wheel still has some mistakes (double surfaces), which I am still trying to get cleaned up. As soon as I have done that, I will upload these as well..

Oh, and these files are drawn scale 1/18, so print at 25% to get 1/72..

Impressive workmanship, I'm amazed a machine for less then 300€ can print to this level of quality, this truly will be the age of the 3D printerwink

Hi Ironsides,

Thanks! I too think that for modelling a whole new age has started. I already have seen my maschine (Anycubic Photon) being sold for as little as € 254,--. It is great maschine to get started. I also have a filament 3D printer, but I think for our hobby a UV resin printer is the future.

Hiya,

I finally finished this diorama. Painting took a lot of time, especially the crew. Pictures of the actual gun usually show a crew of 10-12 soldiers. I did a compromise and painted 11... smile They are from the excellent Munich artillery range, and a couple of figures from a pilot set, also by Munich.

There were 30 of these M97 guns taken from Schirmlafetten (Armoured mountings) in fortresses early in the war and deployed with wheeled carriages.

The guns were pretty heavy, about 4200 kg in battery, but had quite good range - about 13 km max. Arie said there were still about 16 guns in service at the end of the war.
