Hi everyone. I am trying to doa bit of "tankspotting" with regards to the St Chamond. If anyone has any books with photos of the St Chamond, could you blow the dust off them please? What I need, if the photos are clear enough, is the chassis number of the of the tank, and what batch it is. And my eyes aren;t waht they used to be....

The number is something like 52456, located in the lower hull front or rear, or a 3 digit number like 706 on the upper side. There will be exceptions, of course.

The batch can be identified as follows:

1st batch: flat roof, 2 round cupolas front, 1 rear.

2nd batch, as 1st but extra small cupola/vent between front pair.

3rd early: sloped rood, no cupolas, TR gun (recuperator almost as long as barrel)

3rd late: sloped roof, no cupolas, m1897 "seventy-five" gun.

4th batch: sloped roof, rectangular drivers cupola.

If you can find any info from your books or mags, please let me know. I dont; need the image or link (probably), just need the number and batch.

Please no web images, I think I have been through as many as I can find.

Any help is appreciated. I will check the forum, but feel free to email me direct.
