YouTube service changes probably mean loss of videos for Landships II

YouTube has announced that from Dec 10 they reserve the right to remove any channel or video which is not monetised

or is not "commercially viable".

Landships II has a bunch of videos which are hosted on YouTube but appear in articles on Landships II. Most of these were put

on YouTube by PDA. It would seem a smart move to grab these videos before they disappear and rehost them on the Landships II

website. It probably will mean some videos will not be available while I work through modifying the code to handle the new hosting.

I could switch the video hosting to BitChute but the Chute isn't available in all countries.

Can't really comment as I know zinch about online video sites, but its a curious policy change... particularly when Utube has a policy of actively demonatising videos..

Perhaps they will go the way of Photobucket(does anyone still use them?) smile

I can send you the vids, but I don't know much about bitchute. Flickr and Facebook also host vids but I don't know if they would be accessible to L2 viewers.

Also, a lot of those old vids are garbage compared to, for example, the Tank Museum's Tank Chats, which probably won't be affected by the changes.
