I hadn't realised that with the shift to left wing politics Wikipedia had also given up any pretence at rigour.

The article entitled "15cm Ring Kanone L/30" is mostly about the 15cm Marinerohr M83 L/30 on a Krupp carriage.

This was one of the Naval gun types adapted for land use during WW1. Franz Kosar refers to it as "15cm Kanone i.R" (in Radalafette).

The image attached to the article is one of set of IWM images of a captured 15cm Kanone i.R (attached).

There was a 15cm RK L/30 gun but it had nothing to do with Krupp's WW1 gun (also attached from an 1892 Krupp catalog).

I could cite other examples but that one got up my nose today.

Edit it so it becomes right.

I'm not part of the inner circle of wikipedia - too white, too old - so I haven't got sufficient editing rights

to fix this mess up. I've tried fixing the more egregious stuff up in the past but inevitably the text drifts back

into error even when you supply quotes from texts (and translations) to support your changes.

Just to fix the WW1 artillery articles would require a Herculean effort - Augean stables - too easy compared to that.
