Some photos of a diorama I built. It’s supposed to be a 9.2” howitzer being taken to the front, hauled by a Holt tractor, somewhere in France on a very soggy day. Scale is 1/35, Roden Holt, howitzer a very well travelled Resicast model....made in Belgium, purchased in Australia, built in the Uk. The dio is very difficult to photograph as it’s nearly a metre long.7AD03336-5FF5-43B6-866B-B1F6F8728007.jpeg99F065C0-9F13-4503-BD5F-FF25FB7AB690.jpeg04247395-A365-4535-A94D-5EFC6F9B0DF1.jpeg9D26C7AD-97E2-435F-AE3A-0D39326B2871.jpeg510ACAE5-D005-45A4-88D7-B6C0710BDC6E.jpeg

Very nice. I like the figures especially; I wish I could get figures like that in 1/72.

I like this a lot, did you have any issue with the Holt ? I have just bought the Holt with 8" howitzer despite all the "dodgy" reviews and intend to come up with a diorama for it with figures as well. Not sure if the wife will like it if it turns out a similar size LOL. Great stuff Thanks for sharing.

The biggest issue on the Holt was the seam (ditch) on the roof, took one hell of a lot of work to get it to look right (I assume that hasn’t been rectified on later kits, mine was an early one.) To be honest I nearly gave up on it but a mate with more patience and skill than I sorted it out for me. It’s definitely not one of Roden’s finest but with work can be made into a reasonable model. I put a few extras on it such as stowage box, rolled up side awnings and control rods for gears etc.

From experience I would say this a pretty honest assessment of the kit
