Question on Renault FT
Permalink

Hello!

I bought this (already built) nice 1/35 model from a Renault FT with an 8mm Hotchkiss.

As far as I know, the patches are from 2nd platoon, 1st company, 344 Tank Battalion, 304 Tank Brigade, US Army

1) Is that right?

2) What about the number "706"? Is it a right one, or should I better try to remove it?

Thanks a lot in advance

Hi Tanker!
Thanks a lot for your help. Great job!!!!!!

So on my FT is something right and something wrong...

Could you please enlarge the small square in the picture below left?
Maybe I will be able to change it into the right way...
I also found some infos about 344:
From August 1918 to 06 November 1918, however, the 304th Tank Brigade was called the 1st Provisional Tank Brigade and was under the command of Lieutenant Colonel George S. Patton until 26 September 1918 (wounded)when it was renamed the 344th Battalion.
The 344th Battalion was one of the brigade's two light (F.T.) battalions.

Formed at Langres, France, on 7 June 1918, as the 327th Tank Battalion, it was redesignated the 344th Battalion on 12 September.

The tiny little pic is Tanker's 'avatar' and is the same as the pic below his name 'Tanker'. He places it on his works so that anybody using his works automatically attributes him. (Just in case they are trying to pass his works off as their own)
