Folded Truck Tarpaulin

I'm doing a wet, muddy logistics scene and I'd like to open up the bed of the 1/35 Standard B Liberty truck. Specifically, I'd like to model the tarpaulin covering the bed of the truck folded back halfway to the middle of the five bows. But this raises some questions (all I ever do here is ask questions)

- Was this standard procedure? I haven't seen an image of it done.
- Are there ties on the tarpaulin to allow this or is it not possible? I just want to know if it's possible for the truck to have it secured at that folded position or if it's need to be retied before heading off.
- Finally, what material would be best for the tarpaulin? I was thinking very thin foil.

Sorry for the incessant questions

Afternoon Jim,

I am not basing this on any evidence rather than pictures (see attached).
Regarding the material you can use/try for the tarp I have a preference:

- Putty can rolled, creased and folded however you see fit.
- Tissue paper dampened with diluted white glue.

Hope any of it helps.

Best regards,
