Stumbled across this newspaper coverage of manoeuvres in 1908. Hornsby tractor is pulling trailer, both on caterpillar tracks. The trailer is mounting a dummy gun, as IIRC suggested by Major Donohue of the MTC.
I'm sure I've seen another shot of the trailer-mounted gun but can't remember where. Anyone help?
