Can any one help by answering the following?

If I am looking at a side view of a tank that has had its sponsons removed and I cannot see the track tensioners or the roof hatch is there any way I can easily tell if its a Mk I, a Mk II, a MK III or a Mk IV? The side of the cab is visible but not the front.

Tough question!!

About the only way left to identify the tank is the census number and most of the time that isn't visible either.

Is this question in reference to an existing photo?
