Russian gun armed truck

I attach a photo of what looks like a Russian truck with a largish gun with a big armoured shield. I don't think its an AA gun as the mount doesn't look as if it could do very high angle stuff. Any suggestions?

hmm... i think i may have seen this picture before, im not on my home pc, so i cant realy look for it, but ya, it dosent look like it can go verticle, but it still may be an anti balloon gun, but it looks like they just took a feild gun and put it in a flatbed. dunno, i will try to see if i have this pic and any info on it.

yup, i had seen it before, last night in fact, i was surfing the kubinka tank museum, heres the link:

it simply says it is a german truck based gun captured by the russians in the village koptsievo, so it may be one of a kind, just some battlefeild improvisation.

I went thru my copy of Russian Army Armored Cars 1906-1917, by Mikhail Baryatinskiy and Maxim Kolomnetz. I didn't see anything quite like the vehicle in the photo. I also suspect that it is a one-off field expedient.

 Hello Gentleman

A friend has emailed me with some information regarding this thread.

“Put the speculation about the vehicle to rest; it is an Ehrhardt K-Flak Model 1914.   The added splinter shield to the gun was not uncommon.   By 1916 these systems were being employed more frequently as "assault fire brigade" expedient artillery to engage enemy attacking forces that had penetrated the front.  Hence the crew's and yes, it was capable of full elevation; the smaller inner shield moving with the tube as it elevated.”

I concur.

All the Best
