Mk IV photo on eBay
Permalink

Just noticed an unusual photo of a tank on eBay. The sponson has a crazy paving pattern and there is a cartoon-style illustration of a French(?) boy behind the sponson. The eBay item number is 200063296658. BTW, I have no connection to the seller whatsoever.

Thanks for the tip! Most unusual! But it shows, once again, that there was many variations to the basic british camo scheme. (I should really do that article on camo variations soon...) I wonder what the thought behind this paving pattern was?

I think that the "French Boy" is in fact an early version of one of the Bisto Kids (for non British readers - characters used to advertise a gravy mix)
