Reading material on the use of the Light Hotchkiss in the British army I find that when used by cavalry (for which use it was originally adopted) a spare barrel was carried and the barrels changed after 500 rounds had been fired. Presumably the same applied to the use of this weapon in tanks (when 500 rounds equals ten belts of ammo) but I can find no reference to this. were spare barrels carried and where were they stowed. Presumably the gun would have to be dismounted and drawn back into the tank for changing which must have been awkward in a moving and cramped tank.
