Russo-Balt kit
Permalink

Visiting Moscow this last weekend I bought an injectionmoulded (1/72) kit of a Russo-Balt ac, its short-run and not of the best quality though.
The producer is "LW", soes anyone know anything about this producer? Are they russian  (all text in the instructions are in english and there is no box, just a zippobag)?
Have they done more kits?

Sorry!
Found the answer on this excellent page!
Have to remember to do a search before I throw out silly questions!
I will crawl away in shame...

You seem to be going east quite regularly Erik. :)
You ever come across that kit again, I would be interested in buying one from you. Don't know where else to do that.

EDIT: Being swedish myself, I still managed to spell your name incorrectly twice. :P

kaiser, don't waste your money!! I have built this kit and it's awful. I simultaneously built the Modelkrak Russo Balt; side by side these look like two different vehicles. just getting the panels to meet at the corners requires much butchery (I can't even call it filing or model-making).

to get an idea of the awful quality of this kit, look at the review on Plastic Soldier Review -

http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.asp?manu=LW&code=52

they have not deliberately tried to make it look bad; it just looks like that!!! its a terrible terrible kit.

on the other hand, the modelkrak kit is brilliant

Thank you! Although I often build hopeless Airfix kits, this one looks much worse than anything I've ever seen (Apart from the Military Wheels "Tunguska"...)!

Erik
In light of this new information, I withdraw my request. Unless you're willing to sell it real cheap at IPMS Open this weekend. :P

Hi Kaiser!

No, Im not willing to part with it even if its a bad kit, I bought it cheap for fun.
If youre interested I can bring it along to IPMS-OPEN this weekend for you to look at.
YOu can find me at C4-OPENs table (or ask any of the boys from "Team-C4" for me) but please contact me if you want to check it out or I wont bring the kit along.

Hi Kaiser, I've ordered several times from this guy and will do so again although to me he seems a little slow.. he does however stock a lot of hard to get figure sets and seems to get in new releases pretty quick.....

Cheers
