Problems with Pictures
Permalink

Hi All, I seem to be getting a reaccuring problem with some images copied to my hard drive, I think mostly from this site, usually WW1 Pics of Tanks.....

The problem is my operating system identify a possible hazard and shuts down the explorer window, usually a file with a large number of pictures in it....

The operating system also wont allow me to directly delete the image....

The only solution Ive found IS to delete the image.....evileye

It would appear that there is something else attached......confused

This becomes a Major P.I.T.A to put right......cry

Does anyone else get this problem?

The last problem pic was one of tanks in palestine undergoing maintenance cant say more then that since I couldnt acces the filehmm

Cheers

Never had one like that.

You could try loading and running Spybot if you havn't already got it - its a bit of v good FREE software for detecting and eliminating all sorts of nasty trojans malware etc. worth having -  its picked off a few nasties for me - do a google on spybot and you'll find the down load site. I have the tanks in Palestine picture - never gives me any problems.

I assume you have a good firewall, Virus checker etc in place.

Hi Centurion Thanks for the spybot advice I have several programs to deal with such problems but I'll try it and see what happenssmile this seems to be a ongoing problem for me I've had this with 4-5 images over the past few mounths, It may of course be a "bug" with windows securityfurious which is pretty unreliable and this may be the problem......I think whats probarbly needed is a quaranteen option for downloads and images but this doesnt exist as far as I can see? at the moment my anti virus software and firewalls should stop anything from getting through, Ive been online for some years now and never had any problems although with some software Ive had a few false alarms......

Ok installed and ran spybot but nothing vital came up just the usual bunch of tracking cookies from my browser, normally I delete all internet related files..
My usual spyware however found more then 6 times as many again all minor
from the browser.. once I deleted temp files there was exactly 0 using both programs....

Cheers

What OS are you using? I understand that Vista is a b*tch when it comes to security - wouldn't touch that operating system BTW.
