though unfortunately i didnt take any pictures (thats about the only thing i didnt take pictures of, and only because i hadnt had the foresight to take my camera as my first failed trip the guards got upset with me and my cameras) it was quite nice, i took 2 trips, well sort of, the first time i went there i had walked from notredam to the eiffle tower (i know i misspelled that) so my feet were killing me, and on top of that the museum closes at 5:00 pm, but on one of our lighter days i made it in, the WWII sections are pretty nice, namely the resistance gallerys, but the WWI section is amazing, and something that in america at least isnt as common, the majority of the collection was composed of guns and uniforms, the uniforms were quite spectacular, the memorabilia was also superb, posters, personal effects, trench art, they even had an americans pocket kodak. with films running constantly on unusual screens and panels that hang from the ceiling so the picture seems to float. there is a section containing a large ammount of guns, with all makes of rifle and pistol, but they also had a 75 and i recall a luftminenwerfer quite amazing stuff. the contrast between the two eras of WWI and WWII are extremely stark, the uniforms of the 1870s (the museum follows a somewhat leniar flow from the mideaval to modern times) to 1918 are quite beautiful and i was surprised to see many pickelhaubes made by all countrys during the period before WWI namely several by russia. i was also surprised by how small many of the uniforms were (then again i am 6 foot 1) but was proud to point out the difference in the american and british uniforms to another tourist. all in all it was quite a good museam, and it appears all the maintenance isnt over yet, but i did see the small big bertha model (its around 1/6th or 1/10th scale, so its table top sized) and it was well stocked. if you go there be sure to go see napoleans tomb its beautiful.

The new WW1 exhibition is much betetr than the old one, even though many of the objects are the same. The guards will mind you taking photos IF you use a Flash. I turned off my flash and then there was no problems. (The flash will bleach the textiles, or so I've heard.)
