Hi Everyone I'm afer set of engineering plans of a 18 pounder QF to biuld a 1/8th scale model in steel and brass and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.
You can buy a large scale (a3 I think) plan of the 18 pounder from the Royal Artillery Museum for about £2.50 - unfortunately didn't have a way of safely transporting it back to my flat on Saturday so didn't get one, but you can probably get it online.
If you check on the "bookbutler" site, you should find it on offer. If not, I have it somewhere.....in what I might call an archive if it were better organised. I should be able to find it. There are separate drawings for the barrel, breech, sights, etc. The only omission is the oil reservoir added during WW1. Otherwise, it seems quite comprehensive and accurate. If you find a copy and decide to buy it, all you will need is a calculator and a good copier, but if you need scans, I should be able to do it in a few days. Good luck.
Greetings Martin, on a post about the 18lber, you mentioned having large scale copies of Mr. Trawins drawings of hte 18lber. I'm intersted in modelling an 18lber, any chance of getting a copy of these plans please ? My email address is john.iles[at]hydro.com.au. Thanks & Regards Johno!
