Ah. In the PDF on early AA guns that Tim R posted, the first pic seems to be this weapon - a Browning AR. In fact, in the Belgian pic it does seem to be on or close to a similar mounting.
From what I gather, the US were initially a bit secretive about the BAR, even where the Allies were concerned, but it was in service with Belgium by the 1930s so the first pic is probably post-War.

Hi James the adrian helmets looks like the 1926 model which was steel rather then mild steel, has no seperate rim with 2 rivets center front for the lining, however I dont know the date the belgium army recieved these but this pic is probarbly late 30's at a guess, my first thought was the MG was a Bar and I seem to remember reading somewhere that the belgiums had some of these...
