FT-17 variations
Permalink

Hello everyone,
I`m a young modeller from Romania and i`m  very intrested in the FT-17. I would like to do a article in a modelling magazine ( an online one)  and i`m interested in variations and copies of the FT 17. I`m also interested in kits( mainly at 1:72 scale) featuring the tanks.
So far, i know:

-FT 17 , hexagonal turret, Revell 1:76 kit, quite a good one but the vinyl tracks are killing me. It has both MG and cannon. It is in the kit " Char B1 Bis. & Renault FT 17 " wich is actually a re-boxing of a old Matchbox kit, but i suppose you know thisaww

-FT 17 , hexagonal turret, HaT 1:72 kit, needs a bit of detailing work, features two MG fitted tanks

-FT 17, round turret, HaT 1:72 kit, haven`t built it myself, but is exactly like the MG one, this one featuring the cannon version

-FT 17, hexagonal turret, RPM 1:35 kit, haven`t built it yet, but i`ve heard RPM is a good FT 17 kit manufacturer. There are two kits, one with MG, one with cannon

-FT 17,round turret,RPM 1:72 kit, also a nice one from RPM, also feturing both the MG and cannon versions.

-FT 17 TSF, command/radio version, RPM kit, being built both in 1:72 and 1:35 scales.

-TYP 79 KO-GATA, japanese version, RPM 1:35 kit, a pretty rare one

-Chemical Screen FT 17, polish conversion of a FT 17 tank fitted with chemical screen  gas tubes, RPM 1:35 kit , again a pretty rare one.

-FT 31, a somehow up-graded tank, used during german captivity of France in ww2, RPM 1:72 kit , i don`t know it fhere are any differences except the armament.

-KS-1 Russian Renault, a twin armoured tank, russian copy, RPM 1:72 kit, an exotic one

-American Six-ton M1917, early version, RPM 1:72 kit, quite a tricky one from RPMbiggrin

-American Six-ton M1917, late version, RPM 1:72 kit, almost the same as the early one, you can make a conversion easily

-American Signal Tank, RPM 1:72 kit, an equivalent of the french TSF version

-Fiat Tipo 3000 Modello 1921, featured on this site,Cromwell 1:72 resin kit

-FT 75BS, also featured on this site, i have no info about it, but i can`t miss it, no producer features it

-Semovente 105/14 Self Propelled Gun, same as the last one, no kit, no info, can easily be made from a conversion. The tricky poart is the gun.

- T-18 , Bull models 1;72  resin kit, the tank has been inspired from the FT 17

That`s all I know, if you can help me i would love to hear.

There was also the liasion vehicle used by British and Canadian forces, as photographed somewhere on the landships site - i'm doing one, just using the Hat kit of the hexagonal turreted FT17, and leaving off the part with the machine gun so there's an opening at the front of the turret
