Hello, I am looking for information on the German Grossflammenwerfer, (Photo attached). I am especially interested in how it was maneuvered in the field. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated,
The heavy flamethrowers were static weapon systems. They were placed in extreme forward positions, and used offensively. An example of their use was the Cailette Woods during the Verdun battles. They were used to neutralize a limited sector of the French line through which Strosstruppen armed with portable flamethrowers engaged and destroyed bunkers on either side of the breach.
