Zhang Zongchangs first armored train is only some flatcars with some HMGs on them, protected by sandbags.
When Zhang Zongchang and Ataman Semionoff (maybe is he, Im not sure. This man is called Mi Luo Fu in the Chinese article) arrived in Jinan, they ordered Jinpu Railway Factory in Jinan built four armored train: Changcheng(=the Great Wall), Changjiang(=the Yangtze River), Yungui(name of an area in Southern China) and Henan(name of a province in China). These armored trains were dsigned by White Russians. Each of them was armed with 6 guns and 24 Maxim HMGs.
In autumn 1925, Zhang Zongchang and Semionoff went to Xuzhou to attack Sun Chuanfangs army. In this battle, Sun Chuanfangs army destroyed the railway and besieged the four armored trains.
In early 1926, Jinpu Railway Factory built four new armored trains: Taishan(=MountTai), Shandong(name of a province in China), Yungui and Henan. They were consisted of 8 parts: 2 flatcars, 2 artillery wagons, 2 machine gun wagons, 1 locomotive and 1 command wagon. The artillery wagon was armed with 1 heavy gun, 1 field gun, 1 mortar and some machine guns. The machine gun wagon was armed with some machine guns. They all had 7mm thick armor. The artillery wagons of armored train Taishan also armored with concrete. Each armored train had 7 field guns, 2 mortars and 24 maxim machine guns. The commander of these armored trains was Chekhof. In summer 1927, these four armored trains took part in the fight against Feng Yuxiangs army but were defeated. The armored trains Taishan and Henan were captured by Feng Yuxiangs army. Only Shandon and Yungui went back to Shandong. However, Jinpu Railway Factory soon built 2 new armored train to replace them. They were still called Taishan and Henan.
In summer 1926, Liu Shian, an officer in Zhang Zongchangs army, suggested the army in ZhiliProvince (This province do not exist now) found the armored train force. So, according to Zhang Zongchangs armored trains, the Changxindian Factory built 2 armored trains: Zhili and Hubei (name of a province in China).
In June 1928, the four armored trains of ShandongProvince (these are Zhang Zongchangs armored train) and the two armored trains of ZhiliProvince went from Tianjin to Guye Station near Tangshan.
In later June 1928, these armored trains went to Qinhuangdao. Two Chinese officers on armored train "Hubei", Yang Lianqing and Liu Tingxiang, thought that the armored train "Hubei" shoulden't go to Qinhuangdao, so that they won't be discriminated by the White Russians any more. They locked the doors of the armored train at 24:00, and ordered some Chinese soliders went into the turrets. Yang Lianqing killed the Russian officer of this armored train in the command wagon, at the same time, Liu Tingxiang and the Chinese soilders began to attack the White Russians in the armored train. They killed more than 10 White Russians and the others all surrendered. Then the drove the armored train to Tanggu station as quickly as they could. When the armored train arrived at the station, it was besieged by the army of Shanxi Province. From that time, this armored train served in the army of Shanxi Province.
The other 5 armored trains were all unarmed by the army of Dongbei Province(Zhang Zuolin's army) in 1930s.
