Italian Isotta Fraschini Tank Design of 1916
Permalink

Gentleman

Hello, I have run across some interesting information concerning a Tank design, dated 1916 by the famous Isotta Fraschini. It came from the following Russian book dated 1933.

{Sorry it will not post the name of the book in Russian} Contemporary means of armor by K. Stepnogo. Would anyone have any further information on this unique tank?

All the Best

Tim R.

Hello Stoyan

Does this mean you have this book? If you do, can you translate some information from it for me regarding this vehicle.

All the Best

I so understand you have taken this picture
http://www.ljplus.ru/img4/d/i/digitax/Izotta.jpg

It is written there:
"Italy, notwithstanding what, it has entered war rather early, could not expose the tanks.
As well as in other armies, design work in Italy went by creation of easy and heavy types of tanks.
The first project the heavy multitower tank was; according to some information it was the many-wheeled machine.
Then the project of firm Isotta-Fraschini concerns to 1916 - also type of the many-wheeled tank.
However both these of the project on technical defects could not be accepted on manufacture and Italians have gone on a way of copying of the French light tank..."
