According to a post on the Axis History Forum German forces in East Africa had these artillery pieces amongst other which I am unfamiliar with:

 13 3.7 cm light guns, 

3 4.7 cm light guns, 

3 6 cm colonial guns,

2 old 4cm guns sent for the von Wissmantruppe

3 3,7 cm revolver guns and 

2 8,8 QF guns

does anyone have info on what models these were and possibly photos? 

Im guessing this photo from the German Colonial Uniforms website is the Revolvergun?

Hi Cj...these are probarbly mostly ex naval guns.....

3.7cm Hotchkiss revolver also built under licence by Krupp/Gruson..

The 8.8cm may be the krupp 8.8 cm L/30 quick-firing gun on a improvised mount....

it would seem likely that at least some of the 13 3.7cm guns were also from the Koeningsburg....

There is also a link form this page to information and images of the surviving 8,8cm S.K. L/30 off the SMS Königsberg. There were only two of this type in Colonial service.  Both had field modified carriages.

The German 9cm C/73 Kanone also has a 8,8cm bore diameter but is expressed up to 9cm. These were also in German Colonial service. This is the Link to the German 9cm C/73 in my collection:

Thanks for the respnse mr lovett,

Ive visited yor site before and would like to complement you. Particularly on the c 73 page, the best on the web. What Ive always wondered, being a hobby historian with general interest and not just for artillery, is what gun did the c 73 replace? What gun did the Prussians use in 1870/1871?

CJ Thanks for the kind words.  The breechloaders I am somewhat familiar with in Prussian 1870-71 service are the C/1861, C/1864 and the C/1864/67.  There are a few of these types in the US.  I have attached drawings from Die Gezogenen Feldgeschuesse C/61,C/64 und C/64/67 von W. Witte .  I have also put in a few photos from a friends collection of his C/64.
By the way, I am not sure if these types were in Colonial service or not.
