Greetings,
The first photo of No. 9907 was probably taken in the United States. Does anyone know to what unit it was assigned?

I can't really discern the markings on the front of the hull but think I can recognize a 65  (65th Engineers Heavy Tank Co? ).

Thank you!

Hi Jack, welcome to the forum.
The tanks in the photos are two different types. The first (9907) is a Mk V* while the tank in the second photo is a Mk IV.

Thank you Mark, for the kind welcome! And also, thank you for shedding some light on these two images.

Hello John

Can't tell you which US unit 9907 was in. I'd like to know myself. All I know is that it left Birmingham (Britain) on 2 August 1918 and was shipped to the USA from Liverpool two days later.

Hello

Here's a view of 9907 running over a car. Two things are strange:

1. These tanks were not fast, so why is there a guy bailing out of the car? didnt he see it coming?

2. The nose markings are not White-Red-White. I dont know what they are, but they are not WRW. (and I have a feeling of déjà vu).

Phil,
1. I suspect the guy leaping out of the car is a humourous touch. There's a few shots of cars being demolished by tanks; maybe the photgrapher had them in mind when doing this shot. Neither vehicle seems to be moving.
2. The markings look, to me, to be red, white, blue, left to right.

Mark, yes, I imagined them as red, white and blue too, but I wouldnt want to bet my wife on it.
